I’m Harriet Adkin, a Sustainable Artist who is obsessed with drawing plants!
Throughout my life I have turned to The Arts as a form of therapy (sometimes subconsciously). In some of my lowest moments, drawing has always been the thing I’ve turned to to heal. The creative process anchors me to the present; it allows me to process emotion and be with myself.
It was only in 2020 that I realised how much I need art in my life. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I wasn’t following my soul’s calling and doing what really lights me up.
I have finally embraced and acknowledged that this is what I am meant to do. Life is too short to not do what makes you happy. What gets you fired up? What makes your heart sing?! We only get one life, so I’m going to make the most of it!
As a passionate environmentalist, I hope to raise awareness of the impact that we as humans are having on the environment, especially through deforestation. There is a shift happening, a call for equilibrium, asking us to connect with the divine feminine, Mother Nature. My drawings seek to show the beauty, intricacy and resilience of nature and it's necessity. We must work with the earth instead of against it. When we connect with the earth, we can truly heal and grow.
All of my prints are eco-friendly. Pop over to my website, have a browse and join me at a workshop, I’d love to see you!
